Resources to Assist Batswana to Export under AGOA

Gaborone, Botswana: The U.S. government’s African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) promotes economic growth, trade, and investment in Africa by providing duty free access to the U.S. market for over 6,400 products until September 30, 2025.  Over the last 15 years, AGOA has created over 300,000 jobs across Africa and non-oil exports have quadrupled.

The United States Agency for International Development Trade Hubs developed an Exporter Toolkit at the website agoa.info in order to provide information and guidance to African exporters seeking to take advantage of this program.  Building on these resources, the U.S. Embassy in Gaborone is proud to announce a new Botswana-specific website that can be accessed at http://botswana.usembassy.gov/agoa.html.  This webpage highlights key Exporter Toolkit resources, includes presentations and interview recordings from AGOA outreach events in Botswana, and features answers to the most frequently asked questions from Batswana entrepreneurs.
